Club championship rules

1. Championships are open to all financial first claim members who have swum with the club on at least four (4) regular swimming club nights in Pointscore events prior to the first night of age championships. 2. Age groups are as shown in Championship Program. 3. Swimmers may only compete in their own age group and/or Open events, subject to satisfying qualifying time in Open events. 4. The age is taken as at 1st October in the current season. 5. To be eligible to compete in Open Championships swimmers must have recorded the qualifying time (or better) at a Monday night Club meet prior to the Championship event. Qualifying Times obtained outside of Club swim night may be accepted at Management Committee discretion. Failure to swim the Qualifying Time and failure to produce evidence that Qualifying Time had previously been achieved could lead to loss of Championship points for that event. 6. Special CHAMPIONSHIP CARDS must be filled out showing age as at 1st October in the current season, date of birth and FASTEST ACHIEVED TIME. 7. ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN 6:45PM ON THE NIGHT OF THE EVENT ENTERED. Entries may also be submitted on any Club night prior to the night of the event. A set of Championship entry boxes, with a slot for each Championship event, will be available on Club nights. 8. Heats will be seeded on entry times, and timed finals will apply. 9. Coaching shall not be permitted in the marshalling area or on the swimming concourse. 10. There will be separate point score for male and female in each age division. 11. Pointscore for Championships will be awarded: 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 in finals/timed finals. No points for disqualification. 12. In the case of a tie, the tied swimmers shall each receive the points for the placing gained but the points for the place immediately below them shall not be awarded. 13. In Championship competition, the Rules of Swimming NSW will apply. 14. Any swimmer breaching these Rules will be disqualified at the discretion of the Referee. 15. In accordance with NSWS Rules, swimming aids are not to be used and assistance of any kind is not permitted for Championship events. 16. A minimum of 2 championship swims are to be swum by a competitor to be entitled to receive a Championship Trophy/Award. This applies to both Open Championships and Age Championships but excludes competitors 7 years and under. @ |
